Madison Bumgarner Throws Seven-Inning No-Hitter

Apr 26, 2021 8:42 AM

Madison Bumgarner definitely had no-hit stuff, even if the Major League Baseball record book said he didn't.

Bumgarner threw a seven-inning no-hitter, an achievement that won't officially count but completed a dominant day of Arizona Diamondbacks pitching for a 7-0 win over the Atlanta Braves and a doubleheader sweep Sunday.

Carlos Rodon Near Perfect, Throws No-Hitter Against Indians

Apr 16, 2021 7:51 AM

White Sox left-hander Carlos Rodon came two outs away from a perfect game but threw the first no-hitter of his career in an 8-0 win over the Indians on Wednesday night.

Rodon, 28, threw 114 pitches in the complete game, looking as strong at the end of the contest as he did at the beginning. One of his final pitches hit 98.8 mph -- the hardest he's thrown a ball since 2016.

"I can't believe it," Rodon said on the game telecast afterwards. "It'll be hard to top this one."

Joe Musgrove Tosses First No-Hitter In Padres' History

Apr 11, 2021 12:58 AM

A long-time member of the Friar Faithful, Joe Musgrove knew all about San Diego's no-hitter history.

Musgrove, the 28-year-old pitcher who grew up just down the road in El Cajon, California, threw the Padres' first no-hitter — in the team's 8,206th regular-season game — allowing only one baserunner in a 3-0 victory over the Texas Rangers on Friday night.

San Diego had been the only active MLB franchise without a no-hitter.
